Houses with a history. That's what The Baltimore Sun is looking for. This fall, we are sponsoring a contest to find those dwellings that beautifully reflect the era in which they came to life -- whether it be through preservation, rehabilitation or restoration. All kinds of historic homes are eligible including those that have been adapted for use as living space such as converted churches or barns. However, homes must be owner occupied and at least 50 years old. Entries will be judged on appearance, the use of traditional materials, historical appropriateness and style.
To enter the contest, upload at least five pictures of the house by Nov. 8. Be sure to include images that show the exterior, interior rooms and historic details. In the caption area, include the date the property was built, the city, county or neighborhood in which your house is located as well as any unique history or feature of the structure. Please limit captions to 50 words or less. Finalists will be contacted in November. Read the contest rules here.
Judges will determine the grand-prize winner, who will receive a two-night stay at the Hotel Monaco Baltimore.
